At my heaviest, I was close to 300#. Being a former Marine and a Dad, this was not something I could live with. I bought into Paleo early and knew that this was a good thing. Food quality and whole foods saw me lose weight fairly quickly. Unfortunately, once I stalled, I began looking for answers even while the weight crept back. There were some basic problems with Paleo. The first was simple…food was my medicine, but I had no prescription for the amount. And intuitive eating didn’t work. The second was less obvious back then…there was no exit plan and long-term learning.
When I started RP, I knew I wanted to stick with Paleo. I felt good eating those foods. So that is exactly what I did. I followed the program, measured everything, learned what foods looked like as portioned. Learned off plan meals didn’t have to be off plan days. And learned that food is the medicine as long as you are prescribed the proper dosage. And that is what RP gave me…the dosage.
I am about 1 month after my 12 week cut. I am down 32 pounds (267 to current 235, though I ended my cut at 238). I eat off plan about twice a week. My pants went from a 40 or 42 to a loose 36. I am wearing clothes that I once told people my body wasn’t made to be small enough for in the waist. I was accused of photoshopping my picts. LOL And even better…I lost all that weight with no cardio. Just lifting and eating! And yes, I have an exit plan. And it is working like a charm. Sustainable and effective. A way to maintain. It is easy and it works.
